Drop-test stand

Description:

The stand was designed to conduct a wide spectrum of impact tests on materials and parts of mechanisms. The impact is performed with a free falling drop-weight with adjustable weight and height of drop. The tests can be performed both when the tested specimen is fixed to the drop-weight or is fixed to the foundation in the impacting area.

Technical data:
  • Maximum mass of drop-weight 100 kg
  • Minimum mass of drop-weight 7 kg
  • Maximum hight of drop 1.8 m
  • Maximum impact velocity ~5,5 m/s
  • Maximal energy of impact ~1,5 kJ
  • Weight of the foundation 50 kN
Data acquisition:
  • Charge force sensors KISTLER (measuring ranges: 2.5 kN, 5 kN, 10 kN, 30 kN)
  • Magnetic displacement transducers of the drop-weight KUBLER (resolution 0.01 mm)
  • Charge accelerometers B&K type 4393, upper frequency limit 16.5 kHz
